Off forever, back never - is the second album from The Mighty Flux. Formed during 2018 after meeting at Maui Waui Festival in Suffolk (probably the best festival in the world!) they (Silas, Paul and Henry) have taken their original ideas for the band and propelled them to the next level.

Ideas for this album started coming during 2019 but before recording could start an EP (The Flux) was finished and released in April 2020. Most songs were finalised during the summer of 2020 and recording started in October. The band recorded their parts individually using laptops and audio interfaces. It was difficult to get the right feel at times, especially with vocals but eventually, we got there.

It's a varied collection of songs, which could be categorized as alternative dance, with some rock/funk and pop influences. Guitars (Silas) play a big part in the sound of The Mighty Flux but this album also uses a lot of percussion (courtesy of Henry) which adds a natural and earthy vibe. Drums were originally planned to be recorded live but a change of circumstances meant this had to be programmed (by Paul). Digital kick, snare and hi-hats were programmed or virtual drummer in Logic Pro X (mainly Sol Cal) was used on literally every song.

Recording, editing and programming songs for the album took nearly 6 months. Mixing really brought the songs to life with a lot of help from; Soundtoys, Izotope, Waves, Softube and Empirical Labs (plugins). Some of the recorded material was a bit rough around the edges, which made mixing and mastering a bit tricky, but most of this was left to give a sense of realness to the songs.
